Devon Walker to have No. 18 retired in all sports
Devon Walker to have No. 18 retired in all sports

Nice jesture. I would have rather seen Tulane dedicate the number every year to the person in each sport who most exemplifies the overall commitment and perserverence that Walker has shown and let the athletes of each sport vote on who it should be.

Interesting observation. Players earn the right to wear number 18. Tulane can still do it if it wishes.Wavemania wrote:Nice jesture. I like Wavemania's idea
“We will expect success in all endeavors and be prepared to assess and hold ourselves accountable when we aren't successful. Tulane is a top 40 academic institution and it should expect nothing less from its athletic department.” --Troy Dannen 11.5.16

I like that idea as well.
Other ideas are every player wear the number for a tribute game. Or extend the flag bearer to other sports and not just football.

I agree that since the number is retired in all sports, it would be appropriate to extend the *honor to all sports as well.DrHullabaloo wrote:I like that idea as well.

*meaning flag, earned jersey number, etc.
