That's kind of what we'd expect right? That way if his draft grade drops he can return to school?
not sure how it hasn't dropped already... 2nd team all AAC doesn't really equate with "first round NBA pick"
Paul George was Second-Team All-WAC the season he declared for the draft.

George: 16.8 ppg, 7.2 rebs/game, 3.0 assists/game, 2.2 steals/game, elite defender, 35% from three-point line
Frazier: 15.9 ppg, 5.6 rebs/game, 2.9 assists/game, 2.1 steals/game, elite defender, 38% from three-point line

College accolades really don't necessarily mean much in terms of your draft stock.

If that matches what teams are telling him then I would expect him to return to Tulane next year.

Yeah, obviously the difference between the first and second rounds in the NBA is the guaranteed contract money

And the rub is that there's probably 40+ guys who have been told that they'll be picked in the first round...some of them won't even get picked at all. It's almost a foregone conclusion that he's gone at this point.

I'm pretty sure Dunleavy is convinced he's gone as well. And why not, Frazier is looking at some serious money. Best of luck to you Melvin, loved watching you play.

I saw another mock draft yesterday that had him going 33rd but I forget to what team. Maybe Atlanta?

ran into a guy at Starbucks wearing an Angry Wave sweatshirt... turns out he's close friends with one of our assistants... Frazier stopped going to class a while ago. This was apparently a foregone conclusion that I honestly didn't want to acknowledge for obviously selfish reasons... the fact his father recently re-entered his life within the past year is probably not a coincidence, either.

Looks like he's still going to class -

Fair is fair. And it's in the context of why one may not have heard of him.

The Athletic rates Melvin in the top 30.

"Still, Frazier will likely be a top-30 player on my board by the end of the process, simply because of positional need and versatility."

Just notice that the same article suggests that Ona Embo should return to school.

From the first day of the combine: https://twitter.com/DraftExpress/status ... 08288?s=20
Strong first day for Tulane's Melvin Frazier. Tested well. Measured freakishly (plus 9 wingspan). Made athletic plays on both ends of the floor, showing great defensive potential. Hit one nice pull-up 3, and had an awesome run-out dunk that will probably end up on Sportscenter.

Tulane shared a highlight package of his performance on Facebook. Not a lot of plays but he looked good in the plays he made. The aforementioned dunk was his patented windmill that we saw several times in games this past year.

Props for Melvin from SI at the combine. Should we change the name of this thread to "Who wouldn't take Frazier in the first round?" :green wink: We'll see.
