From the comments on Facebook, under my nephew's thread his friends are primarily fans of the upriver outhouse, just like the rest of Louisiana), Big Lee must have been a highly reviled "fan."

What's remarkable about this incident is the absence of "respect for the dead." Even on the rant there are any number of posts calling him a criminal scumbag who never met a woman he never mistreated.

My wife remembers his house from the time we lived in “Old Metairie.” He certainly seemed to like LSU.

1) "Lee" must have been what I call a TOLSUF, for "typically obnoxious lsu fan".
2) Not to be diresepectful to the decesased, one comment on FB was hilarious..."This is what happens when you bring a garden hose to a gunfight".

He was a scumbag bully with multiple arrests for being a scumbag bully. Towards men and women. The world is a better place without him. Even by the low standards of LoSer-U fans, the guy was vermin.

no one in the regulated towing industry or in the commission that regulates that industry is surprised that his death was by other than natural causes. I'll leave it at that.

looks like a regular old Peyton Place in that little neighborhood. Dead cats, dead plants, angst and strife sprinkled in with a dab of police reports...............

Before killing 'Big Lee' Martin, Wayne Higgins had bizarre spat with another neighbor, JPSO says

http://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/ ... 3df42.html

not sure its wise to allow a 71 year old man with anger management issues to walk around with a holstered, loaded firearm.

Yup, mix anger issues with a valid open carry permit and simmering neighborhood vendettas. What could go wrong?

You don't have to have a permit to "open carry." That is simply called having a firearm.

Depends on your state. Louisiana, no. But more states are requiring permits to purchase or even own a gun.

Got it. Either way, one guy is dead and another is going to the slammer for the rest of his life.

Not getting into a political debate, as I'm not taking sides here, but requiring a permit doesn't limit the ability to acquire a gun, per se.

Oh grasshopper.

What about requiring a permit but then operationally not issuing one or charging xxx dollars for one and requiring renewal every two or three years.

My point is the requirement of a permit isn't a hindrance. It's only a hindrance once denied.
