And, aside from one or two players, looked like shiite.

Re: ***Official Soccer Thread***
Looked like the wcq version of the team. Uncoordinated and tentative in midfield. Far too willing to concede entries into the defensive area. No ability to reset the attack after failed shots. Lots of obvious difficulty to see the play developing.
Yes, these are mostly very young kids, but the problems already look the same. Very disappointing.

France might beat them 15-0
Re: ***Official Soccer Thread***
Julian Green is one of those guys that is better for country than club. I would like to see him start for the US for a while and see if he can score consistently.
Re: ***Official Soccer Thread***
4 goals in 10 appearances. 2 of the goals are impressive, WC against Belgium and France. The others are Cuba and Puerto Rico. He needs to get his club situation settled. He's only 22, but struggling in the German 2nd division isn't going to cut it.
Overall, I was very impressed. These kids weren't intimidated by France's WC starting XI, and took it to them for the first 50-60 minutes. Zack Steffen was clearly the best player on the field for both teams, and should have every chance to be our starting keeper going forward. I think Tim Parker looked good, and finally Cameron Carter-Vickers looked good for the US. He's going to have an important club season coming up. He's not going to be playing for Spurs (likely), so he'll probably need to transfer away, because another season on loan at a Championship side is a waste. Antonee Robinson looked good again, and hopefully he breaks through at Everton. Miazga was pretty solid, and either he gets a look at Chelsea or goes to another EPL side, because I don't want him back on loan in Holland. He's better than that. Aside from Steffen, I thought the best player was Tyler Adams, and I've heard rumors he's going to move from NY Red Bulls to Red Bull Leipzig, which would be seamless since it's the same system.

this thread is 95 pages long... think maybe a separate World Cup 2018 thread should be started

I don't understand the "This thread is 95 pages long, I'll start another one," logic. Do you have to read all 95 pages to post that Egypt lost to Uruguay and Suarez didn't bite anyone?

...Morrocco loses to Iran on an own goal is the 96th minute.

Landon Donovan is dead to me and should be banned from all USMNT and in fact all USA soccer events.

The twitter fight between the 2010 World Cup team is funny. Him, Boca, Herc Gomez. They're all turning on one another.MattK wrote:I'm also considering finding a new mortgage lender.windywave wrote:Landon Donovan is dead to me and should be banned from all USMNT and in fact all USA soccer events.

If we are as woke as Donovan then we should probably root for LSU when they don't play Tulane.

I don’t root for Mexico because anyone else does nor will I root against them because anyone else says it’s some big rivalry (no matter if it’s former U.S. players or the insufferable USMNT supporters).

Egypt own-goaled, then gave up 2 more very quickly. They've punched their ticket home.

Re: ***Official Soccer Thread***
guessing this is the "official" World Cup home?
with the US out of the Cup Fox finds itself stuck with the broadcasts here that are missing the one key component to draw casual fans....a home team. So they've come up with the wackiest campaign I've ever seen: "Root for your Roots!"
so if you have some distant relative that you have long since lost any connection to culturally...........that's going to entice you to catch their matches.
With the US out of the World Cup, Fox Sports has turned to a DNA testing company in hopes of generating fan interest
