Ryan Grant
Ryan Grant
With the combine going on, I was listening to the radio yesterday (Sean Saulsbury) and they had one of the top WR scouts in the business on the show and the question was who is the best route runner you have seen or worked with an the answer was Ryan Grant. Certainly he may have been the biggest beneficiary of the CJ era.

Re: Ryan Grant
Happy for him. Wouldn't it be great if he donated 10% of that to Tulane Athletics?

Wonder if Ravens got cold feet and failed...that contract seemed pretty ridiculous.gerryb323 wrote:And he failed his physical

The Ravens probably changed their mind once they realized Crabtree was available.

Re: Ryan Grant
That's exactly what happened. After the ridicule they took for his contract (rightfully so, they overpaid for him no doubt), Crabtree was infinitely more attractve. Regardless of their original misstep, they made the deal and should live with it. I wonder if there's some sort of grievance the NFLPA can file here. Grant hasn't missed a single game in his career; no way he truly failed a physical.Man in Green wrote:The Ravens probably changed their mind once they realized Crabtree was available.
He'll find a landing spot somewhere; As a Saints fan, I'd love him here with Brees (but not at anywhere near what the Ravens gave him initially).

Ryan would be ideal for the Saints at the right price.

The Ravens are notorious for this sort of thing; they've done it before, although the NFLPA hasn't had a publicly successful grievance about it.Saintgreenie wrote:That's exactly what happened. Re: Ryan Grant
Very, very surprised that with CJ on Airline Dr, he hasn't gotten more attention. Maybe now that the rest of the WR/TE market has dried up.long green wrote:Ryan would be ideal for the Saints at the right price.

Re: Ryan Grant
He appears to be signing with the Colts. Good for him. I think that will be a good fit with plenty of opportunity so long as Luck is healthy and returns to form.
ETA: 1 year $5 million. Far off from the 4 year $29m ($14.5m guaranteed) Ravens deal.

Re: Ryan Grant
Without much fanfare, Grant started for the Colts yesterday opposite TY Hilton and led the team with 8 catches for a 1-yard-short-of-team-leading 59 yards. The Colts really spread it around (top yardage receivers were TE, Grant, and another TE, Hilton was 4th), but Grant made a lot of nice catches and it was obvious he's a favorite target of Luck in clutch situations because of his great route running.

The best in the game.

Re: Ryan Grant
Good point. If he has an injury free year with similar results as his first game, he could get it all back and more looking at some of the super contracts just signed in recent days.ml wave wrote:He lost 9.5MM, might want to give him some space...Man in Green wrote:He got $5 mil.
