Annual egg laying
Same old, same old.
Re: Annual egg laying
We talk a good game but when the actual game starts we seem surprised.

UAB 31 - Tulane 24
That was equally disappointing for offense and defense.

Terrible performance.
Re: UAB 31 - Tulane 24
Of course the game would end with Banks losing the ball.....

Feels like Scelfo is back coaching. Can't believe we lost that game. Just horrible.
Re: Annual egg laying
I’m convinced this is the best we’ll ever be. I also need to stop spending my birthdays traveling to watch us lose.

The disappointing part is how both lines were overmatched by a CUSA team.QuarterbackU wrote:That was equally disappointing for offense and defense.

Re: Annual egg laying
Banks is unimpressive. He looked good a couple times at the end of last season but overall I didn’t think he was that good. We needed him to be the guy he was at the end of the year all year long and it doesn’t seem like he’s capable of that.
The Fritz contract extension was premature, IMO. 4-8 in year 3 looks very possible.

In Year 3 of one's tenure, you must be able to beat a team that didn't literally exist in Year 1 (2016).windywave wrote:There must be blood

Tulane looking ahead … ?
Re: UAB 31 - Tulane 24
The Wave has too much skilled talent at running back and wide out to allow Banks to blow it by Hot Dogging it and take a big sack after running around for 20 yds in the back field or, worse, fumbling. Are our Coaches watching the same games we are?

On the second to last Tulane drive, when UAB was rushing three DL against our five OL - we still needed to leave the RB in to block. The disappointing part is how both lines were overmatched by a CUSA team.

Face It, We Are a Lower Level CUSA Team
The past three years we would have finished in the bottom third of CUSA. Really no progress. We will be 1-5 very soon. No use even paying attention the next two weeks. We don’t belong in the AAC. Just don’t belong.
Offensively, our football IQ is so bad at just about every position except 3-4 guys.
Defensively, we will be good next year. Too many youngsters.
OC has to go.
Dannen, will we be shut out again this year. 0-7 heading into basketball.
And nobody cares except us nuts who cannot shake this drug. Please put us all in a detox program.

Do you always have to do this?
“We will expect success in all endeavors and be prepared to assess and hold ourselves accountable when we aren't successful. Tulane is a top 40 academic institution and it should expect nothing less from its athletic department.” --Troy Dannen 11.5.16

And people get on me about not being happy and having a positive attitude.
Next time someone tells me “quit whining about baseball, Dannen’s building a top 25 football program” I’ll point to this.

Re: Face It, We Are a Lower Level CUSA Team
he's not wrong
we will be a bad 1 and 4 before October 1... that means only a margin of error of 2 with USF and Navy in November... it means we have to be perfect against SMU, Tulsa, Cincy, ECU and Houston... that's not happening folks.. so 5-7 is the best this team can hope to achieve.. and we all know we aren't winning all 4 of those other games.
McMillan should play the entire game next week. As I said on the scoreboard, McMillan with half a playbook has to be better than Banks with all of it.

I would rather see Banks next week getting beat up playing Hero Ball, give McMillan one more week to learn the playbook and then hand him the ball to see what he can do

McMillan needs game speed experience... get it next week vs. Ohio State so he can be potentially useful versus Memphis...GreenieBacker wrote:I would rather see Banks next week getting beat up playing Hero Ball, give McMillan one more week to learn the playbook and then hand him the ball to see what he can do
Ga State moved the ball well against Memphis last night... if our offense can actually find itself, we might be able to do the same.. but I think we need a major shake up to get this team's attention.. and benching Banks would do just that
