He should beg Dino Babers to take him at Syracuse.

Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
Wouldn’t be shocked to see Jalen back in Houston, or somewhere in Texas (TCU). The great thing for him is he can go anywhere. Syracuse would be a great option given the way they keep improving. What about Wisconsin or Michigan State? Oregon, Washington, or Cal? Florida, Mississippi State, or dare I say Auburn. He is in a great position, and a class act.
Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
Why not an SEC school? UGA, Mizzou or even one of the other two Tiger Lands?
Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
From everything I’ve read, Maryland looks like the most likely place as his former OC is their head coach I believe.

I agree. Especially after seeing the way he handled himself the past two seasons.tjtlja wrote:He is in a great position, and a class act.

Interestingly Matt Canada is still "listed" by Maryland as its OC even after he lost the HC derby. I guess figuring out his contract status will keep some lawyers busy but who knows where he is coaching next fall. Yes I imagine it could be UM again but that would be a surprise.

Houston 2019 signee and early enrollee, Levi Williams, announced he is leaving the program. Sounds like he talked with Holgorsen and decided (was encouraged?) to leave. If he actually enrolled, I think he'd have to sit out a year, no?

That was twenty years ago. If he made a big deal out of it he could probably get cleared for this year. It's only Jan 11th, he may not have attended a class yet.

No way he has attended a class, not unless H-Town is on the quarter systerm

This kid can run pretty well. We should absolutely give him a call.

He'd most likely sit out this year as a redshirt anyway, so no harm no foul. Assume Houston would release him from LOI.

Agreed. Sounds like a mutual thing. Maybe he gets the free year like Tanner did. Three star QB, btw. Their second highest offensive recruitml wave wrote:He'd most likely sit out this year as a redshirt anyway, so no harm no foul. Assume Houston would release him from LOI.

Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
Oklahoma's Austin Kendall (backup this year and had to have been next year's presumptive starter) has put his name in the transfer database. He's graduating and has 2 years of eligibility left. 4 star recruit.

Johnathan Wilson signed with us and played the following fall for Memphis. Not sure what happened there, but there is precedent.gerryb323 wrote:Agreed. Sounds like a mutual thing. Wouldn't that give us two Levi Williams in our class.gerryb323 wrote:Houston 2019 signee and early enrollee, Levi Williams, announced he is leaving the program. Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
And OU backup Austin Kendall will be a grad transfer at West Virginia. After initially denying immediate eligibility and being roasted for it, OU has relented and he'll be eligible in the fall.MattK wrote:Going to Oklahomatulaneoutlaw wrote:Hurts has visited Maryland. Miami up next.
Tate Martell, late of Ohio State, has chosen Miami. DeAndre Francois is staying at FSU, which will lead backup James Blackman to look into transferring. We should have a QB carousel thread!

Re: Quarterbacks - We Need You
Seriously, as much as we would like to believe that Football programs are a meritocracy many people would be very surprised to find our the amount of arbitrary favoritism and dog housing that goes on in these programs. I have seen it from the inside. Too often, if players aren't exactly what the coach thought they were getting coming out of high school then they move on to other players like three year old moves on to a new toy. It's actually pretty sad. Some athletes are weight room warriors, but lacking on the field. Others are perfect in practice and get beat in games. Others may be deficient in practice, but when game-day comes a light comes on an they are great. If you are the latter and have are competing with a practice stud who shines in the weight room, good luck. I saw this at every position on the team I was on. I am glad there are so many transfer options these days.
