Funny, but Thomas’ current rating on 247 would, if I read things correctly, elevate the current ranking of our class to very near last year’s ranking. He’s rated just below Eric Hicks.

I say we’ll finish below the final ranking of last year’s class among all FBS teams. There are several P5’s who have a lot of spots to fill and most of them will be moved past us. But perhaps not too far back.

Nationally or within conference? Just curious, not out to make any point.

Well, actually, my point is I'm guessing our conference might have done better overall than last year.

It seems so. Also, some other G5's have good rankings.

Tyjae Spears and Tyler Judson both made the LSWA 5A All-State team. Spears is listed as a WR. Yes, he’ll play running back here.

He was at .8299 when he signed. Why they'd lower him I have no idea.

I have one guess why.

Is anyone visiting this weekend? Someone posted somewhere that Peyton Matocha is visiting? Is that true? Is anyone else visiting?

No visitors this weekend. The staff is working hard to secure visits for the weekends leading up to signing day. Matocha is still scheduled to visit. I think it is either next weekend or the weekend after that.

Starting next weekend there are 3 weekends before signing day, plenty of time to line up the best group of four to close this out.

I'm not drawing a line in the sand and saying one of these four HAS to be a QB, but I will say this: Fritz's biggest weakness so far has been the inability to recruit a QB that has the skillset to run his offense, or to recruit ANY kind of HS QB that would have a chance to play at AAC level. People like to talk about the offense, but if he hadn't failed so miserably at QB recruiting, we'd of heard a lot less about the O. Getting the right HS QB this year would go a long way toward showing that things really ARE changing.

We better be running Hall's system. That in turn will lead to being able to recruit quality HS QB's that can win in the AAC. The previous system was of no interest to HS QB's.

A name to watch has been mentioned here in another thread. That is Immanuel Hickman of Virginia. He is a DE who could play the Cam Sample role or grow into more of a tackle. He was committed to Cincy for a little while.

Not sure of his capabilities, but OSU ain't exactly known for their defense, if you know what I mean.
