Above is realistic but as a fan, I'd prefer to be optimistic. I think if Latham simply can help reduce the free passes maybe by itself that will bring back winning baseball ways. Last two years, Tulane has been a sloooooooow team. If new guys can improve there, it could mean a couple of more wins on that attribute alone as well. We'll see how TJ and team respond to being under the microscope.

speaking of Latham don't know if this has been posted elsewhere. Good article on a key player

New pitching coach Daniel Latham hopes to steady Tulane staff

https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans ... 36c4c.html

“What we think is going to be our weekend rotation (Kaleb Roper, Keagan Gillies, Chase Solesky) and our top two bullpen arms are as good as anybody in our league or better,” Latham said. “I’m working hard to develop some depth behind those guys. The key to our season is staying healthy with our top-end guys and having four or five more guys emerge as key contributors.”

I don't agree that VM's list is realistic at all. I will take the over.

I predict we’ll all be asking when football season starts in less than a month. Hope I’m wrong

What’s unrealistic about it? We won 25 games last year. It’s certainly possible that the team is much improved and wins a bunch of games, but I don’t see how a .500 season is unrealistic.

Also, taking the over is a little vague guys, try to be a little more specific. Especially if you’re going to call my prediction unrealistic.

I thank Visual for stepping up and offering his prediction. It is there for the rest of us to critique or offer our own. If nothing else, we can review as the season progresses.

I say 38-18, finishing third in the AAC. The improved pitching gets us those 10-12 wins that we couldn’t get under Tighe. Daniel is very instrumental in this turn around.

Never has a season been more dependent upon the pitching coach. I honestly have no clue where we'll end up.

There are so many unknowns it is hard to predict. Our bullpen was atrocious last year. They have to better, but how much? What will we get from Chase coming off an injury? How do we replace Spoon's production?

I'm going to throw out that if Latham can get Massey back to being close to the pitcher he was as a freshman, we will be much better midweek.

Haven’t heard anything about Massey. Don’t even recall his name being mentioned during media day. I’d be shocked if he returned to Freshman form. At this point I’d just hope he can be a decent guy out of the bullpen.

I don’t think there are any more unknowns than a normal season. Last year almost everything was unknown.
This year, we know all about our whole infield and at least 2 of our weekend starters.

I’m hoping the pitching is as improved as Jewett believes. If so we should have 10-15 more wins. That’s assuming hitting continues to stay in the top 3 in AAC offensive categories.

You wouldn't know about baseball if ine hit you in the head, which is what I predict would happen if you ever played catch

I played baseball on high school and running a quick estimate have seen at least 500 mlb games in person. If there’s any sport I know, it’s baseball. That said, I’ll be the first to admit I completely stopped following MLB 6+ years ago, and don’t follow TU baseball closely enough to be confident in any prediction. Hence why I said I hope I’m wrong. But I don’t have good vibrations going into this season.
