"inauspicious" is not nearly a strong enough word to describe Solesky's terrible start.
Retired the first batter. After that, 3 walks and 2 HBP, and we're already down 0-2.

stirrups look awesome though! That would be my preferred baseball look, every game for the rest of time.

37 1st inning pitches by Solesky. :?

UCSB got 2 runs on 0 hits and 0 errors. 3 left on.

Let's see if our batters can reverse the momentum.

Agree That's how baseball is supposed to look.

Chase looked like he wanted to melt into the mound out there. We need to bounce back emotionally and FAST

Josh Bates will take over in long relief.
This also means the starter for Tuesday is TBA.

We go to Justin Campbell now.

I fear for the middle innings at the rate we're going.

Does our program often have problems with West Coast teams or does it just seem that way?

Reminds me of the classical violinist who is all-state orchestra in his/her small high school, goes to a major conservatory for an audition and gets schooled.

I, for one, can't wait to play some teams that aren't UCSB in the near future

they are having a hell of a weekend. Tip of the cap.

For those of you casually dropping by and wondering why there's no pbp

it's 8-0 UCSB right now

I can't be arsed. There's college basketball tournament unders that require my attention.

I just left the game. Between the heat (80 with equal humidity) and the inability to throw strikes I didn’t want to pass out.

Another solo shot for the Wave. This time by Hoese.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th,

USCB 9 5 0 (5)
TULa 3 3 0 (4)

Umpire continues to make atrocious strike calls

And another solo from Haskin!

it's 4-9, still 2 away in the B5.

Umpire says that UCSB batter did not go around on the 3rd strike. Next pitch goes yard for a grand slam.

When it comes to the umps giving breaks, it's gone 100% UCSB's way this weekend.
