so, a few weeks into the season and it looks like

1 The Preds are TOUGH
2 Windy may be right about the Blackhawks surprising people
3 Carolina and Montreal are a bit of a surprise, but it's early... both teams were supposed to be in rebuild modes
4 Vegas is playing like an expansion team.. but they have some key guys hurt
5 The Kings are a dumpster fire.. what's up with that?

Nice win for the BLACKHAWKS last night Windy. Broke an 8 game winless streak. And right now the Pens are just a shadow of what they were the last three years. Wouldn't surprise me if neither team makes the playoffs. Funny stat came out of last night's game. They Pens recently have lost 2 games when one of their players got a hat trick.

Hey now.. losing the Classic to Boston was not losing to the worst team in the league

What history forgot. The Harlem Globe Trotters actually lost to the Washington Generals...6 times! And in '87 the Globetrotters dropped the Generals from their schedule. Sound familiar?

Just returned from Pittsburgh where my daughter and I went to two games. First one losing to the Devils, maybe the worst team in the league, then beating the Lightning, pretty much the best team in the league. Go figure. And when we left for the Daburgh, Pens were the 1st wildcard, and when we returned yesterday, they were 2nd in the division. Crazy. Lots of teams at about the same level in the Metro division and the league in general. And boy, it was cold in Pittsburgh, but I'm sure nothing like what windy was experiencing in Chicago.

Bruins need to bring in a top 6 forward or they might spiral out of the playoff picture

I'm hoping for Panarin.. will settle for Simmonds or maybe Schenn.

Heck, if Buffalo is going to tank, Jeff Skinner would be nice.

that's incredible.. that team was a dumpster fire 2 months ago... their game preceded Bruins/Golden Knights last night and when the announcer made that statement, I couldn't believe it

heck I lost track of where Boston was.. I knew they were on a good points streak, but thought that was just keeping pace with Toronto...but, they are 4 points up on them now (Toronto has 2 games in hand, though).. but Boston wins the tiebreaker (3-1 in season series).

For any of you who are from our neighboring state of Mississippi, Mike Lange (Pens play-by-play) has a new catchphrase for a goal, which won the contest to submit a new one is..."Buy me a banjo in Biloxi"!
