This basically says to me "we have no intention of firing you and we're gonna make sure this whole thing blows over and we get off unscathed."

I find it interesting that asst coach Benford is leaving; wonder if he knows something about Wade's long-term future now that Wade has agreed to contract revisions that grease the skids for Wade's forced exit if NCAA finds any wrongdoing down the road.

Re: lsu basketball
things could be changing after yesterday... Miller is in the cross hairs now and may have to take the stand... I think Wade would have to take the stand if that happens... how Arizona hasn't distanced themselves from Miller at this point is mind boggling. I wonder if LSU is taking their cues from what Arizona is doing (burying head in sand, hoping it all goes away)PeteRasche wrote:https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 567368002/

Advocate's initial take. Hard reporting/analysis will come in due course. Note LSU PR flack's interesting version of "No Comment."

Re: lsu basketball
From the commentary in the second Twitter thread sr linked above:
Is this all true? Because if so, that explains a lot.The new AD at LSU is married to Mark Emmert's daughter. The same mark emmert who is head of the ncaa. The same mark emmert who was the former LSU chancellor. Hmmmm, wonder how that happened.
Re: lsu basketball
You do know the basketball world and the schools could care less about this case. It has been reported that not one person from any school, conference, or the NCAA have attended this trial. The NCAA is supposed to police this type of activity and their is not one representative in the court room. Same for SEC, PAC 12, LSU, or Arizona. No one cares. They just want it to end and let things go on their merry way. Sickening, but we better get use to it because this is the way it is. The only way out is to quit watching college sports altogether.

And apparently made another strong-*ss offer to land a 5-star.

Seriously. You have a coach that clearly cheated, should have been dragged into the trial, and should have been fired. And not only is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING going to happen to him, but he's pulling in 5 star recruits.
What a farce. The NCAA needs to just quit the pretense of caring.
On edit, even national outlets now getting in on noticing:

Re: lsu basketball
Hey, look! Now there's mention of LSU football being under scrutiny.

More stuff for the NCAA to conveniently ignore and "look the other way" about.

FWIW LSU has never had a bowl ban while most of their SEC compatriots have. Its probably long overdue.

I saw on Facebook yesterday (probably by the same jokester) that LSU had also signed Kevin Durant.
