That is a good slot. Need a good showing. An upset in that time slot would be great for the program.

For anyone going to the game, this is a godsend. Tulane's visitor section (as well as team bench) will be on sun side of field. Awesome this is now a night time game.

Looks like all of our September games are night games. That is very good.

For those going to Auburn, now that it's a night game. All hotels in Auburn or Opelika upcharge and require a two night minimum (if they still have rooms). I just booked a room at the Marriott in La Grange, GA which is 45 minutes from Auburn

I always thought it crazy how the Auburn faithful who have to drive in just buy an RV and park in the RV lot a couple of days... In light of the hotel deal, they probably pay off the RV in savings over the course of several decades...

I dated a girl from Opelika; I visited the area for her church's Christmas cantata. I was on my best behavior, but I forgot that I had a "Follow me to Nick's Bar, Tulane avenue" on the back of my car...

When I went to the Marshall game a number of years ago I stayed in Charleston; did a cursory search for a place in Huntington, decided it was worth staying 40 miles away. I think I made the right decision

Yup, Auburn is extremely rural, conservative, and Bible belt Christian. It's a typical small, Southern town (along with Opelika, Columbus, GA, and other towns within a short drive). The people are very nice but there's not much there outside of the school.

Would be great if Mr. Van Hooser would stop by and weigh in! (I met him and both Fudge and Wilson at the Ohio State game last year and they were delightful).

When I was grad school at FSU there was a lot by the football stadium that was student parking, but they'd close it on Wednesday for Satruday football games for RVs to park.

Here is the site for the official alumni tailgate. Looks like it runs from 3 to 6. $40 per adult.

I was just scanning the Auburn board to see what they were talking about (it's all Oregon, which is understandable). They did have one thread a couple of weeks ago that asked what trap games they'd have. I didn't expect anyone to say Tulane, but one poster did write this:
If Auburn beats Oregon then the trap game is Tulane. If a loss to Oregon then there really aren't any left on the schedule

There is a lot more to do in Columbus these days.

I pray that I can convince the people in the lobby bar of the Hyatt on New Jersey in DC to put on the Tulane-Auburn game.

It's on ESPN2, that shouldn't be too hard. If it were on a regional sports channel like back in the day, you'd have a much smaller chance...
