Ron Hunter's letter to former players

Thought y'all might like to see this (I don't think there's anything secret here I'm revealing... it's a URL that I can link here so obviously not really private). Glad to see he's reaching out to program alumni; some prior coaches didn't.

WOW! This is an incredible outreach, shows a ton of class. I don't know if any of the previous coaches did anything like this, but I certainly like his attitude, and the fact that he wants to reach out to those who came before him is great. I have always said that I have been impressed when the top recruits also have quality families; we now have a coach to match this.
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

I like that this letter is in his voice - no mushy, comms professional speak.

A few of the previous coaches have done similar things. Conroy was probably the most proactive about connecting to former players and his staff organized reunion weekends and such (though mostly tied into the 100th anniversary, which was coincidental to his time here). Dunleavy, or at least his staff, were extremely gracious.

Finney and Dickerson, not so much. I kind of felt like they "talked a good game" but didn't follow through. But to be fair, I didn't make much effort to engage them either (mostly having to do with what was going on in my life at the time, not them personally).
