So I/we don't have to look at a number of different sights to see what 2019 TU Baseball Players or Recuits who have signed w/the majors, lets use this topic/post to updated any new information. (We know some will sign)

I didn't know a whole lot about Burns before the season, but I’ve talked to a few people who say he’s supposed to be really good. If the coaches can develop Gozzo into the type of player he was this year, they should be able to develop the next guy up.

Gozzo did have some clutch hits this year, a little bit of pop and was a better than average defensive player at Tulane. He can't lay off the fastball around his eyeballs and is easy to strikeout as a result. Had the staff fixed this, his offensive numbers would be much better.

I think he hit in the 8 or 9 hole just about every game. His defense made a big improvement this season as he made a few plays we’ve only seen guys like Alamais make.

It's probably Collin Burns's job to lose at SS

for 1B I'd think any of the odd men out in the corner outfield competition will stick there (Bedgood if he doesn't play 3rd, Glancy, etc.)
which reminds me, I have no clue if we can expect Ty Johnson back but he could've/should've medical redshirted right?

I felt like Gozzo made the routine plays and had an accurate arm, but his hitting was dreadful. His batting average never improved although he did have some power. He was not particularly fast as middle infielders go. I have been hoping for an upgrade at SS.

Yeah. I went to most recent, but even as I typed it I started thinking of others and named nearly every Tulane SS in my lifetime

After further thought, Alamais was probably a bad example because while he excelled at the highlight reel play, he had a high amount of errors on the routine ones. Most of those before him weren’t as acrobatic, but they made difficult plays look routine.

Looking at the roster and incoming players there is no true 3b listed. Not every inf can play 3rd you need a cannon for an arm.

I would assume everyone drafted (unless there is a negotiation stalemate), plus the possibility of another non-drafted person... Like Sal said, this might be their only chance (as a junior). The possibility of getting hurt, plus the fact that some of these guys are ready to done with school, for now. Contracts have college money, for those that sign (like Sal)..

Most guys playing 3rd base in college played SS in high school.
