Summer 2019 milb debuts

Unread post by noladave »

Chase Solesky pitched 1 inning in relief Sunday, and gave up 2 hits and 2 runs. Voyagers lost 9-0.

Let’s try to keep all of your summer 2019 updates on this thread. It’s easier than having a half a dozen threads.

Roper should be pitching in the next couple of days. Using our guys in relief, for now, due to innings pitched this year, which is pretty usual for college starting pitchers.

You beat me to it, but thanks for posting Dave. I was going to include an update about where each of our former players is as of this season, once this year's assignments were all made. This includes guys just drafted as well as players from former years.

Since Celucci is playing in Cape Cod I assume he didn't sign. Also haven't seen anything about Mathews signing with the Braves.

Kody Hoese -AZL Dodgers 1- Rookie
Sal Gozzo - GCL Phillies West
Trevor Jensen - Elizabethton Twins - Rookie
Chase Solesky - Great Falls Voyagers - Rookie
Kaleb Roper - Great Falls Voyagers - Rookie
Grant Witherspoon - Bowling Green Hot Rods - A
Corey Merrill - Ogden Raptors - Rookie
Will McAffer - Lansing Lugnuts - A
Jake Rogers - Toledo Mud Hens - AAA
Stephen Alemais - Altoona Curve - AA (injured)
Ian Gibaut - Durham Bulls - AAA
Tyler Mapes - Harrisburg Senators - AA
Randy Leblanc - Pensacola Blue Wahoos - AA (injured)

Advanced age for his Class - say what??? Does Class mean Jr. in college??
by RotoWire Staff
Hoese went 3-for-3 with three doubles and an RBI for the Arizona League Dodgers on Monday.
The 21-year-old Tulane product wasted no time making an impression in his first minor-league action, lacing a trio of two-baggers as part of a perfect day at the dish. It's only one game, but Hoese posted gaudy numbers his junior season with 23 homers and a 1.265 OPS, so he's an enticing offensive prospect, even if there are still some questions regarding his advanced age for his class and the competition level he faced at Tulane. He'll look to continue to show he can translate his collegiate success to the professional ranks as he gets his feet wet in the Arizona League.

Lol, even these people (or scouts, or wherever they're getting their info from) question the dumbed down schedule.

Corey Merrill, over a year after TJ, made his major league debut last night with 1.1 innings of scoreless ball. He was pumped. Great job Corey and we are pulling for you big guy!

Pete, sr, Gerryworld, is my post in the right thread? Does it belong in another thread? Should I ask for merging, or mercy? Help, I don’t want anyone having a meltdown.

This is where it belongs, tj, and thank you for sharing! I'd been wondering if Corey would ever make a comeback - glad he is getting his shot!

Well you didn't create a new thread, so I think you're good.

Although, I think you meant minor league debut. We can't all be perfect.

So Hoese is 5-for-5 with 11 total bases.

I'm no baseball expert but I think that's kinda good. 8)

He only went 2-4 last night. Lowered his slash to .778/.818/1.556. I guess they should cut him now.

Sal Gozzo has been assigned to the Gulf Coast League Phillies West (as opposed to the GCL Phillies East). This is the lower level of Rookie ball, but it's a chance. First game for the GCL is today. Good luck to Sal!
