Josh Bates
not sure if this posted somewhere else (apologies if this duplicates) but Josh Bates, ex-Tulane baseball pitcher has tweeted he will attend Stetson in the coming school year.
Re: Josh Bates
I posted it on the main board just so more people would see it
Re: Josh Bates transferring to Stetson
Can’t blame the kid. He was treated like absolute garbage. He should have been the midweek or Saturday starter last year. Good luck Josh.
Re: Josh Bates transferring to Stetson
I like the kid and got to be friendly with his parents.
When he was on, he was quite good.
But he was on about 20% of the time.
Good luck at your new place, Josh.

This is off the rails. After his first two starts he had terrible numbers. He also stunk it up in summer ball. He had good stuff but he could not control it. Good luck to him.NJwave wrote:Can’t blame the kid. He was treated like absolute garbage. He should have been the midweek or Saturday starter last year. Good luck Josh.

Imagine our pitching numbers had he been starting more games......wavedom wrote:This is off the rails. After his first two starts he had terrible numbers. He also stunk it up in summer ball. 3-0 record, ERA under 3, opponents hit .105 against him. He did walk almost 1 per inning, hit a ton of batters relative to the number of innings pitched and threw a lot of wild pitches. Clearly control was not there, but we had no midweek starting pitching. He performed the best of all the midweek starters in the limited opportunities he was given.

2.89 ERA in 18.2 IP
Better ERA than anyone on the team with greater than 5 innings

Re: Josh Bates transferring to Stetson
After those first couple of quality outings he imploded. When you do the numbers he had an ERA around 8 and had about three walks/HBP an inning in those outings. He went to Stetson not UF.

I was at the Nicholls State game....he was wild & walked like 4 batters & thank goodness they swung at bad pitches....he was all over the place....nothing bad against the kid....but he was all over the place...good luck to himlong green wrote:Shame on you.BACONWAVE wrote:Imagine our pitching numbers had he been starting more games......wavedom wrote:This is off the rails. It took someone saying something to get you in the right place.

1 year removed from hosting a regional and playing UNC in a super regional.. pretty safe to say they're a better program than Tulane, right now.wavedom wrote: He went to Stetson not UF.

Re: Josh Bates transferring to Stetson
That has nothing to do with the point I made that he went to Stetson not UF. BTW, shame on you for skipping those relevant records just to try and win an argument.Johnny Mac wrote:Wave in those same three years: 32-26, 27-31, 25-33wavedom wrote:Two losing seasons in the last three. 27-32 last season and 27-29 in 2017.
