Re: Week II (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
If you said Ohio State, Auburn, and Illinois are playing AAC teams this week and asked which one would be favored by the most, would anyone have guessed Illinois would be the biggest favorite?
Re: Week II (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
What a trainwreck of a program UConn has become overnight. There was legitimate excitement here about the Huskies when I arrived 7 years ago, having been to a BCS bowl and all. In that time, they have gradually declined into possibly the worst FBS program, bailed out of their conference because of hoops, and their games are now drawing at the Tulane Buddy-Teevens era attendance. They should hang it up.

what if someone told you that and that if you had to bet on one of the 3, Illinois is a strong contender?PeteRasche wrote:If you said Ohio State, Auburn, and Illinois are playing AAC teams this week and asked which one would be favored by the most, would anyone have guessed Illinois would be the biggest favorite?

FTW has a little AAC roundtable podcast up. Talks with a few guys from other schools' podcasts. Worth a listen. We get some love. Already turning some heads.

If SMU beats North Texas they will make a bowl game this year. NT handled them pretty easily last year. Good game.WaveProf wrote:Saturday September 7

SJSU has been depressingly bad for a while and Tulsa should beat them but that’s a long road trip. If they get upset Montgomery is finished well before Rosh Hashanah.
Georgia Tech should be ripe for the taking and USF beat them last year but Charlie Strong is giving off a smell. I tried to tell some of you last year that Blake Barnett was no good but I had no idea he was this much of a mummy’s curse.

Cincy @ OSU
OSU has 4th and a foot deep in Cincy’s territory early and lines up in a shotgun spread. Of course they get stopped short. That was a Ruse formation and play call if I’ve ever seen one.

Cincinnati turns around and goes for 4th and 1 out of the shotgun and makes it.

I still think it’s a dumb call. The RB is 3-4 yards deep before he gets the ball.OGSB wrote:Cincinnati turns around and goes for 4th and 1 out of the shotgun and makes it.

Re: Week II (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
What happened to the Cincinnati player they took off? I looked away a minute and the announcers said they were not going to show it which implied grotesque injury but then he was okay on the cart and the sideline reporter said he had a history of seizures. Was he convulsing?
Since then UC seems to have lost their focus. It was 7-0 and since the injury OSU scored two quick TDs to go up 21-0.

Every time I switch to Cincinnati/Ohio St I see Cincinnati making a nice play but they trail 35-0 late 3rd.
1st and goal now though.

Deflection interception, OSU takes it back to midfield. So much for that.OGSB wrote:Every time I switch to Cincinnati/Ohio St I see Cincinnati making a nice play but they trail 35-0 late 3rd.

Even Tulane with Jonathan Banks scored at OSU...

I take back the USF score. The app said 16-14, now it’s 14-10. Was a TD called back?

USF loses again. Is that 9 in a row?

Re: Week II (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
USF fumbled at the goal line, though it was never ruled a TD, so don’t know why the app would have added it in. If it were us, I’d be unhappy about not getting the score. Looked like he got in on replay, but not a good enough angle to overturn it.OGSB wrote:I take back the USF score. The app said 16-14, now it’s 14-10. Was a TD called back?
