Leach to Arky (or Ole Miss) could be very interesting. He should be able to recruit Texas well and he always gets good QBs.

Hiring Leach would be a huge adjustment for Ole Miss; they has nothing but dual threat guys on their roster.

Plumlee - yes. Corral - not sure. They have a 4 star Dual committed.

Corral is a solid runner, Plumlee is almost more of a single threat right now. The #3 is a dual threat guy, too. If I’m them I talk to Dave Clawson at Wake, who has shown he can handle “both” kinds of QB and who might be palatable to the Manning family down the road (you KNOW there a lot of people thinking about that in Oxford).

Kiffin is a candidate at both places. Some folks think that he and Billy Napier could fill the OM and Ark jobs. Mike Norvell seems to be a strong candidate at FSU.

Mike Bobo out at Colorado St. That's one I thought would happen, but didn't get why they waited until Wednesday. That's an attractive job.

Ron Rivera being fired in Carolina could set off some dominoes as Michigan Harbaugh is a rumored front runner for that job. I guess kudos to the Panthers for getting in the pool early.

Based on his sample size of 2019, I would agree. Next year will tell us if he is ready to be a P5 OC.
Started off good, but the second half was nothing like the first.
Things change when you get tape and map out tendencies. That is when coordinators earn their salaries.
Nail on head. Example a is the wing/flex-bone stuff under center which worked like charm against Army, but fizzled as the year went on. Also the passing game withing this offense was figured out by mid season.
Army is not nearly as good defensively as Temple, UCF, etc. Not to mention Jones' injury limited him significantly after Army. And our passing game featured many throws 10 yards over the head of wide open receivers...not sure you can lay any of this on the OC.
False, Army's defense was decent. They slide to 5-7 because they could not score. The point is we showed it in Army and it proved to be something we couldn't execute as well after played that hand.

3 Sep 14, 2019 3:30 PM Sat Army @ UTSA W 31-13
4 Sep 21, 2019 12:00 PM Sat Army Morgan State W 52-21

They rank highly because they played UMASS, VMI, UTSA, Rice, Morgan St...sorry, they're not good on defense. ESPN's efficiency ranking (which takes into account strength of schedule among other things) ranks them as the 91st best defense. Other than UConn and Missouri St, they were the worst D we played all year. For comparison, UCF is 22, Temple is 35.

Dear Santa... What I really want for Christmas is....

1- Arkansas hires Kiffin
2- Missouri hires someone else, so Fritz stays
3- Leach takes the Ole Miss job and their 4-star dual-threat QB commit switches to Tulane
4- Norvell takes FSU job and coaches against us in the Birmingham Bowl in January and we beat him, exacting revenge for the Memphis game which derailed our season.

I like your list, Pete.

A second shot at norvell at FSU also could help dispel all the lingering flashbacks to the embarrassing thrashings the Wave suffered at Tallahassee during the 80s. Those games went on and on and the touchdowns just kept coming. . . . :xmad:

The game we played against FSU in Tallahassee when Charlie Ward was at the top of his game could have easily been 100-0. One of the worst feelings I ever had because it could have happened.

Also remember Steve Ballard (hope I have the right name) making miraculous catch after miraculous catch against them in Tallahassee. We got whooped, but it was a night he will always remember.

This makes me wonder if it would have been illegal for me to apply as Doug Ruse or just against the indeed.com policies.

Jeff Tedford stepping down at Fresno St. Seems to be due to health reasons. That's 4 MWC jobs available, Colorado St., Fresno St., UNLV, and New Mexico.

Norvell expected to be the next guy at FSU. Cruddy timing to leak that. Could've waited until this afternoon when the AAC was decided.

Lots of smoke about Kiffin to Ole Miss too

they tried really hard to keep it under wraps until after the game... but how is that possible in this day and age? throw in the fact the rumor has been swirling hard all week, the kids pretty much already knew he was gone

Looks like Kiffin to Ole Miss is confirmed.

Dontcha just love how they are so desperate to justify the hire that they include a photo of him at Alabama rather than at his current job at FAU?

If FAU has vacancy as expected, does that increase the chance we lose Hall? Many think he’s not ready for an AAC level job, but a Sunbelt team with an offensive minded recruiting strategy the past couple years could be willing to take a chance.

FAU is CUSA now. My guess is he is more likely to consider being a P5 OC before going there, but who really knows

They can have Bobby Wilder...big news here this week other than him "resigning" is how he agreed to be the FAU head coach back in 2016 without informing ODU only to be unhired when the FAU president and board reached a deal with Kiffin
