Can’t imagine Manny Diaz surviving at Miami. Not going to work for him there. IMHO

Miami message board is probably interesting reading right now.

Pretty bad when your AD has to apolitical to your fanbase and it gets covered by national news...

Miami’s athletic teams haven’t been the same since Donna Shalala turned up the U’s Academics.

I don't believe that for a second. It's being reported elsewhere he held a team meeting to address that he might interview for a NFL opening.

No one has any plans to do it until their agent calls and tells them HOW MANY millions are involved.

Coaching transition during bowl season article from ESPN.

Top target is likely Napier at ULL. I was pretty surprised when they kept him from Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Missouri. If he Mississippi St. doesn't grab him, I'll be doubly so.

I don't know if it changes anything, but he just signed a 2 year extension with ULL.

It only changes the amount of money MS St. has to pay to get him. If they want him, that contract won't mean much.

If true, he is being smart and waiting for a better opportunity. There is a definite ceiling for both Mississippi schools. He is doing the same thing Fickell is doing at Cinci, not jumping at the first P5 that comes calling. He will come back with a good team next year, likely rack up a bunch more wins, and then see what comes open.

Also McMurphy is wrong plenty so let's see how it plays out.

State appears to be closing in on their next guy, with NFL WR Joe Judge and Georgia DC Todd Grantham being the names most oft mentioned.

And the college carousel is back up and running as Matt Rhule is supposed to have agreed to become the Panthers new coach. Look out, ULL.

on edit: It looks like Judge will be the GIANTS head coach.

Mr T was dead on with this one and I was dead wrong. With only one year as an asst in nfl, Rhule is now a very rich man.
