Depth Chart, Freshmen, Overall Impressions?

Post by tjtlja »

Can some of you'll who may know, or may have seen practice, re-arrange my guess at a depth chart below -

QB - Mcmillan, Howard, Daniels
RB - Bradwell, Dauphine, A. Jones, Huderson, Spears, Booker, Carroll
WR - Mccleskey , Mooney, Robertson, Toles, Vallien, Ledee, Presley, Jackson, Ledford
TE - James, Wallace, K. Williams/Richardson, K. Jones
OL - Johnson, Claybrook, Dublin, Montano, Mcleod, Knutson/Jackel/Haynesworth, Remondet, Hogan, Lewerenz, C. Thomas, Fort, Oldner, Orgeron

DE - P. Johnson, Sample, Hatcher, Wright, Monjarres, Kubiet/Singletary
DT - J. Johnson, De'Andre Williams, A. Thomas, James, Hinton, Hicks
LB - Moody, Graham, Anderson, Lawal, Dixon, Dorian Williams, Hodges, Vault, Q. Brown
DB - Keyes, Monroe, Langham, Joyce, Levi Williams, Harrison, Norman
S - P.J. Hall, Kuerschen, Clark, Brooks, W. Harper, Bryant, Barge, Hudson, S. Harper, Ball, Walker

Are any of the freshmen pushing the 2 deep other than Haynesworth?

How does the team look overall in fall camp as we enter week 3?

Dauphine better be at least 2 spots too low.

DE - P. Johnson, Sample, Hatcher, Wright, Monjarres, Kubiet/Singletary
DT - J. Johnson, De'Andre Williams, James, Hinton, Hicks
LB - Moody, Graham, Anderson, Jones (did he move to TE), Dixon, Lawal, Dorian Williams, Hodges, Vault, Q. Brown

Dauphine at number 2 at RB.

Move Robertson ahead of Toles at WR. Move LeDee ahead of Presley and the rest. Remove Brown as he won't be playing.

McLeod will start at RG.

You forgot Thomas at DT. He's ahead of James.

Lawal after Anderson at LB. Jones moved to TE.

Brooks after Clark at S.
Here we come!

Depth chart at RB is a bit of a misnomer; the top 4 will all get significant minutes, and all bring different things to the table.

Very few FR. are being mentioned for playing time is the reason is that we are a Vet. Team or was this class overrated ?

Not much has been said in general. Two true freshmen have been singled out so far.
The gap between the top of the big leagues and their bottom is now bigger than the gap between their bottom and us - P.R. told me to do this

Wait are you daring to say we don't have a"young team." We haven't not had a young team in how many years?

It's sad that it's so strange to us to see freshmen not having to contribute immediately. At most schools that have healthy programs, that's the routine. Nice to see we're finally getting there.

Great prob to have Gretna. Nice quality at each position. Go through the defense and think where a frosh could grab a spot. I guess maybe CB but he better be mighty good to push Monroe out.
Then move to the O. Not many places huh?
Amazing that Sincere and Spears even gets a mention in these veteran groups.

When people made fun of the Forever Young, my defense was that the "young team" moniker would remain true until we had a coach or circumstances where we coould recruit at a level that we no longer faced a situation where freshman continued to have more upside than our sophomores. We've finally found that coach

Now that pass catching has been added to RB requirements along with being a good blocker, Dauphine may very well be our #4 or #5 RB when factoring in those aspects

I don't think we can judge his pass-catching prowess based on last year. If he doesn't have at least the second-most touches in the backfield, he better have been hurt.

We are a vet team. Those receiving the significant playing time this year will be mostly upperclassmen. The situation is not a reflection on our freshman class.

Wrong. He could have fewer than Jones with no complaints from any of us. Dauphine is the new Albert Williams, but better.

Or not. He's a playmaker and Hall is not going to let him go to waste like our previous OC did until Fritz forced a change late in the season.

Wrong. Dauphine is legit. A comparison to Williams is an insult he doesn't deserve.

Agree. Dauphine should be closer to 1 than 3

Dauphine should get some of Bradwell's action? Show your work.

dom, saying Dauphine is a rich man's Albert Williams is an insult but saying he needs to toughen up - as you did last year - isn't? Okay.

.
6.3 ypc vs 5.6
Speed

to be clear, I'm not saying he should take over as 1. But he's a lot closer to Bradwell than he is to anyone else.

Dauphine is Reggie Bush to Bradwell's LenDale White. Get the man the ball in space out of the backfield.

He did need to do that and he did. Hence he needs to touch the ball.
