I’ve watched the renovation and “scrubbing” every night that I walk by. I’m not racing over there, but I’m not closed off. 1) it looks actually clean 2) I have a VERY low clean standard. Heck I see food at a gas station parking lot and slam on the breaks. I ate street food every night in Jamaica. My wife and I’s only real cleanliness line/bar is that something not be “Parasol’s bad”. And the new Parasol’s looks above that line.

I was just thinking about a roast beef po boy yesterday and was thinking about Parasol's as a potential lunch spot when we are in New Orleans next month.. but I don't know if it's going to be possible based on all the other places I need to take my daughter (she's been jonesing for a Chef's Special at Camillia Grille since I started making them at home with leftover chili).. we still have to hit Crabby Jack's, Jacque Imo, possibly Domilise, plus a couple of places my wife wants to try.

The chef's special omelet is a thing of beauty

I don't know about the chef's special, but my new go-to is the western omelet. It has replaced the chili-cheese as my personal fave. Best omelets in the world. If I were on Death Row, it would be my last meal, no doubt. Along with a side of cole slaw, a chocolate freeze and a slice of pecan pie. I would die a happy man.
