K. Freeman (30 points on the night) hits a winning 3 pter with 0.3 seconds left in the game to give the women the win over SMU in Dallas 67-66. Wave now 4-0 in conference; 9-8 overall. Tulane was down by 16 pts entering the fourth quarter, pressed, made steals and hit threes to win. Outscored SMU 28-11 in the final stanza.

What a finish! (I listened to the last minute of play)

With the Wave down two, with 53 seconds left, Clark misses two free throws.

Then SMU misses, gets their own rebound, misses again.
Tulane (Jones, maybe?) gets rebound and calls timeout before a jump ball is declared.

Cheatham then has a three point attempt blocked.

Tulane fouls with six seconds left.

SMU misses both free throws.
With now SMU players on the lane, Wave rebound and call timeout and advance.

Freeman rinses the three with 0.3 seconds left.

I think the Wave outscored SMU 28-9 in the 4th.
Edit — 28-11
I think SMU was held scoreless the last 4 minutes.

Tulane is now 4-0 in conference.

Hard to believe!

But we’ll take it!

Didn’t she hit the buzzer beater in OT a week or so ago?

yes..hit a shot that danced, hung on rim and then dropped for the winning two pointer in OT vs. Tulsa in a 64-62 win; The women's four conference victories have been by an average margin of 3 pts

Glad to see we’ve seemingly figured it out in AAC play

Tuning up for next year when anyone can win the conference again.

Buzzer beaters seem to indicate more that we're getting lucky as opposed to figuring something out.

Those are just empty clichés, over time close games generally work out to somewhere around 50/50 W/L. In one game it's a fortuitous bounce at the rim, in another it's the opponent missing bunches of free throws...those breaks even out eventually. The good teams win comfortably.

you do it 4 times in a row --as the women have-- it ain't luck; your "take" sells Freeman, Clark and others woefully short.

we forget quickly they won first 3 games in conf. last year and then went like 3-12 to end it. next few games are the real test to see if they have improved. playing temas that finished in top half of league last year but get two at home. i will be there to cheer them on!

Wichita - RPI 140
SMU - 203
Tulsa - 216
Memphis - 181

I certainly hope squeaking by these teams isn't luck.
