Baseball loses the UTSA Series 11-7

Welch has been our best pitcher but UTSA is a good hitting team. Their record is about the same as us, if not worse.

Re: UTSA Game 2

2 out single makes it 10-4. I’m putting basketball on my screens and will check the score.

Re: UTSA Game 2

I don’t know how, but they answered the two runs and now lead 8-3 in the 4th.

Marget has a second double scoring Rasmussen.

2-run HR makes it 6-1.

Rasmussen and Tuft hit HRs to cut it to 6-3. Tufts was 450 according to Jack Benjamin

UTSA Game 2

A 2-run triple followed by the throw to the infield going into the dugout and UTSA has a 4-0 lead in the first. When our ace is getting hit around we don’t have many chances. Maybe one of Banks’ Ks will score a couple runs. Our outfield is bad. We have some of the worst defensive alignments. Marget ...

Re: March Madness more popular than ever

I was telling someone the other day that even though I didn’t do a bracket again this year (it’s been a few years) I have watched more games than I had in a long time. There have been some pretty good games too. I would think the legal gambling is the reason. More people that normally don’t watch or...

Re: Indoor Practice Facility: Delay Cannot Be Money. Is it just logistics?

I didn’t want to start a new thread for this, but I passed Nicholls campus and got to see their new “indoor” practice facility. It’s basically a tall warehouse with walls on the upper half of each side with the bottom being open all around. I found this pic online: https://i.postimg.cc/4NYbsnqv/IMG-...

Re: Baseball tonight

Roller, are you aware of the huge glitch the site is having (or does jts know)? It can't be accessed from phones, only PCs and tablets (and some apparently can't even get on those ways). That is likely the reason for the lack of traffic the past few days (including zero posts about the USM game). I...

Re: Point of order... the season is over ....Hunter should be fired

The new pecking order is:
P(ower)2
N(ext)2
Those other schools that also play

Getting to the “Next 2” will improve our situation enough that we can separate ourselves from “Those other schools that also play”.

Despite having spent time as conference mates before, this is our first ever series win over Rice.

Re: 29th Annual Tulane-free NCAA Tournament Thread

I don’t watch much non-Tulane basketball during the season but have seen a few tournament games and the difference in those teams and us is as big as our net ranking suggests.

Gregg Glenn announced that he is returning to Tulane fwiw. I felt like he didn’t get as much PT as he deserved (like the other reserves).

Re: Competition for "most hated" Kim Mulkey v Angel Reese

Apparently there’s a NY Post article about Mulkey getting ready to come out. Nobody knows what it’s about, but she is worried enough about it that she has preemptively spoken out against it. By "spoken out about it", you mean "threatened that she's already enlisted the best law firm ...

FAU’s Dusty May is reportedly going to Michigan

Haven’t seen anything official. Per I-Pop, the loss yesterday was their first double digit loss in 73 games.

On edit: Adrian Worjnowski is reporting it as a done deal.

Agreed. A lot of season left to go and I hope I need to eat crow at the end of it.

RPI sits at #87.
It was over 100 last week so it is improving.

Game 2 Tulane 10 Rice 1

Rice isn’t good (8-15) but did take two from ULL, and I don’t know if this will last long, but as a harsh critic of all things Tulane baseball last season, I recognize that we weren’t winning conference games 10-1 last year.

I don’t know why I started a new thread. Can someone merge? Thanks!

Those first two outs were very slow rollers and required 95 mph fastballs and both were on target for outs. Base hit follows.
