Re: Willie Fritz

whoa, whoa, whoa, im not satisifed on the kid question yet. Has no one developed a comprehensive ranking of Fritz's favorite kids from most to least so we can parse which jobs he's more likely to take? And if he stays, does that make Wes his favorite?  Good thing Auburn isn't hiring too ...

Re: Willie Fritz

I don't think the daughters are that significant in the decision here, but one in Houston, one in Auburn...You know, I can think of one school that's almost exactly in the middle of those two places! This is a fair point though. He's almost equidistant between them now. Move to one and you're farth...

Re: Pep Rally Wednesday.

Seems like in my day - the 87 indy bowl- there were kegs involved….. In your day (and even mine), every student was legal drinking age. Now the liability of serving minors and/or the hassle of carding, seems to have killed that tradition. 'Tis a shame. It was so sad when I went back for homecoming ...

Re: Willie Fritz

I don't know Willie personally, but he is from the Midwest, he's from an older generation where he worked his way up the hard way, he's spoken about how he did all the dirty work at those small schools... He's as much or more of a "common man" than most here and probably most current colle...

Re: Makhi Hughes

If you want to know why Hughes has not fumbled, look at his ball security during his 58 yard run. It certainly doesn’t speed him up but it would take three firemen using the Jaws of Life to pry the ball from him. I noticed that as well. He's been taught very well that anyone who catches you from be...

Re: More Tickets now available for AAC Championship Game! Get em quick !

I may be misremembering but didn't someone or some group - maybe just athletics as an entity - buy a bunch of extra student-end tickets last year and provide them to students? Like, didn't Dannen tweet about that after, that we normally have 4000 student tickets but they'd bought like 2000-3000 more...

Not sure what you mean. Seatgeek has hundreds of tickets and those are "public". Presumably you mean "direct from Tulane"?

Re: AAC Championship Game Tickets - Almost sold out

Assume this is a pun. Ole Miss couldn't have pre-bought conference championship tix. Why not? If they bought season tickets back in August, they're still on the list with the ability to buy CCG tickets. Then, they can turn around and resell them for a profit and recoup some of their cost for the se...

Re: Coming Wednesday: AAC Football Awards - Wave predicitons?

I’ll take the conference sack leader at UTSA for Defensive POY. Agreed, and I'll point out that our "terrible" OL allowed 0 sacks to that guy on Friday. They did, but he was definitely disrputive, and had several pressures (whether recorded or not). I'm pretty sure he was the guy that for...

Re: Coming Wednesday: AAC Football Awards - Wave predicitons?

There's no way Pratt gets offensive POY. His stats are far behind several other QBs. They don't give OPOY awards to guys who simply "show grit". If they did, then he'd win.

What will be interesting is if (when?) Stone gets OPOY, he does a video thank you from a hospital bed.

I was told Lainie is a teacher elsewhere. But regardless, one is enough. Everyone thinks Fritz would only leave for Kansas or KSU because of "family"... welp, even one daughter in Houston is family reasons.

Let's hope Houston is looking for a different splash.

While I don't ever expect anything super positive for any G5 from pollsters, I could see us taking a HUGE leap this week, if indeed the concept of "keeping certain teams ranked to buoy the top contenders' resumes" was real. There are a lot of 3-and 4-loss teams ahead of us that no longer n...

The caution I have about their starting a backup is this: We have a guy on our roster who was once the backup and who made his first start in a hostile environment on the road as a redshirt freshman. ESPN is showing Tulane -3 as of this morning. People believing Lashlee (that Stone might be okay)? Or casual bettors that didn't even know about the injury? I suspect this is a Fritzian move and we won't hear another word about Stone's health. Or else we'll get fed the "he may play" line ...
