It was like Cook (and the whole team and WSU for that matter) was body-swapped at halftime. It was a tale of two halves almost perfectlyrandymc wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 9:32 am Jalen Cook played a superb game, his floor game was impeccable. Assists, 9 rebounds, steals (quick hands), killer 3 pointer with ice in his veins when the Wave was down 8 with 2 and a half minutes left in regulation. Tulane gave up just 10 points in the first 14 minutes of the second half. Defense was intense at that point and the press in the final minute that led to the S. James stuff was relentless. Wichita State wilted.
Tulane out-scored Wichita 26-12 from the start of second half to the 5:17 mark left in regulation. Then, from the 2:35 mark left in regulation until Tulane took a 4-pt lead on Pope's short jumper early in OT, the Wave out-scored Wichita 15-3. Held Wichita to 31 percent shooting (just 26 percent on 3-pt attempts) in second half. Meanwhile, Tulane made 88 percent of its FTs, 55.9% of FGs (including 53.8% on 3-pters) in second half and OT combined.

Irony of this year’s team is that they are fun to watch on offense and we don’t have to talk about Hunter’s unique defense
Bigger irony is if they do make postseason, it will be because we stumbled into a heretofore unknown offensive wizard

absolutely stole a win last night.. shockingly (see what I did there) we actually got some calls our way from the officials down the stretch... not shocking: Wichita had their best 3 point shooting night of the season... and we should have won in regulation but, not shocking, gave up a wide open 3 for the tie... and What in the actual F dash dash dash is with Hunter two games in a row not setting up a final play to win with a time out?
