A lot of info in this guerrey article about spring roster. Touches on those names. Confirms we won’t sign anyone in the late period also mentions we initially were pursuing a QB from Arizona state . . .

It's now time to change our mindset as Tulane fans.
We are going to put a ton of athletes on the field in 2023 and beyond - matching every opponent's (unless we play USC again :green wink: ).
Combine that with Hester's innovative strength program, Fritz's culture, the results of this season, the buy-in from the city/alums/students, and recruiting in one of the most fertile regions of the nation....
We can no longer put a limit on what potential this program has.

Related but kinda a threadjack:
The last pieces of the puzzle are very much in our hands.
TU needs to do EVERYTHING they need to do to get us in a P5. That means major investment - now.
It's actually fiscally irresponsible to think differently.

Then and only then will we be able to say that TU is beginning the process of undoing the loathsome and scandalous decision of 70+ years ago.

How many of us remember 4th quarters where the team just didn't have any juice left in the tank? After the starters tired, we couldn't maintain.

DEPTH!

That's what Fritz is building. He's always said his job was to recruit players better than what he already had.

Spring practice is starting this week and I have two questions #1 have we completed the Staff I know we have our OC and DC but every Coach is important. #2 what injured players will be held out ? I know Ibieta and Canady are out but what about the kids that were out before the season started like Dl Friloux, DE Byrd , WR Watts, RB Hughs , DB Pleasant and are their any more that might be out ?

speckled trout wrote: Tue Jan 31, 2023 10:10 pm I agree with that list but I think Alex Bauman is going to have a huge season.

Would also add that Valentino Ambrosio is one of the best kickers in the country.
Ambrosio: great personality, hilarious tweets. Best kicker? Sure -- 8 seconds left, Cotton Bowl tie score, in comes Jersey Valentino. Ice in the veins. Want it right down the middle? No problem: 46-45. The whole game was on his back, he was as cool as a cucumber.

It was and it starts on 2-28. Originally it was going to start on 2-23. Then it was 3-1 and then got moved up a day.

The new QB is Jack Risner from Murfreesboro, TN. He came in for a game visit. He has really good film for a PWO. Looks not unlike Horton.
Watched half hour of Risner at QB for Blackman High. He is now up to 215 lbs., 6'5". Of course, the video only showed successful plays, but he has an arm like a missile launcher for the hard ball and the long ball, but he also has touch with fades and close softies. Can't post the video; you can watch it, but the web address is subscriber protected. You could think of him of what Ibieta could have been....

Let's hope he knows how to slide, or at least avoid getting hit when one foot from sideline.

Slide? Didn't see any on YouTube 2022 matchup between Summit HIgh and Blackman High (Risner). Blackman 54 - Summit 21. Risner is a baller. Blackman offense is apparently the terror of the entire Murfreesboro area, considered unstoppable. Risner did throw one interception. Blackman ended up with 740 yards of total offense. Risner also ran a QB keeper from his own 3 YL, 97 yards for a TD. Summit defenders, however, throughout the game looked hopeless/helpless -- lots of arms thrown out in front of Risner, other runners. Risner is quite fast for a 6'5" 215 lbs. QB, and he a savvy playmaker and passer.

I'll have to search around for it. Still, would not like seeing him take too many hits.
