AAC Week 8 Lines/ Scores

Unread post by waverider »

Tulsa 27
Temple 16 F

#21 Cincinnati 29
SMU 27 F

Houston 38
Navy 20 F

UCF 13
ECU 34 F

Kind of surprised Cincinnati is only a 3 pt favorite over SMU.

Looking forward to seeing what comes of two of those games. Big weekend.

All the Cincy fans around here were anxious to talk football today at work with a fan of a fellow ranked AAC team. They're pretty nervous about UCF, especially with it being a road game. They might look past SMU, but more than anything I think this will show whether SMU really is good or not.

An SMU grad (who is a diehard lsu fan) at work thinks they are going to get killed by Cincinnati this week and by us when we play.

Updated lines and added Houston/Navy which I am pretty sure wasn’t on the ESPN app Monday (or I overlooked it).

The smu line is heavily influenced by injuries. Tyler Scott, cincis best wr has been out but now their QB Bryant may also be sitting.

I do not get the ecu line at all.

Both Scott and UC's QB Bryant are listed as "out" on my score app. That's huge.

Absolutely. If SMU beats Cinci it could really open things up for the conference title game. I know we all want NY6, but when's the last time we won a conference championship in anything (and I'm not counting the regular season baseball title a few years back, we didn't win the conf tourney)?

As I'd posted elsewhere, completely joking because I didn't think it could happen, there's a scenario where we have the title clinched before we even go to Cincinnati. In that case it would likely be us playing to eliminate Cincy (presumably getting UCF in the CG in doing so) or else have to host them the following week.

Doubtful it all falls out that way, but I wouldn't complain if it did!

That would be awesome. But that means same math applies potentially to UCF and Cincy. Another reminder that Tulane controls its fate by winning

Watching the other TUs play. Tulsa guy has thrown two straight interceptions. Temple’s band may be larger than paying spectators in Lincoln Field tonight.

To be fair it is a really big band. 3x?? The size of Tulane’s

To be really fair, most high school bands are bigger than Tulane’s.

Back to the game. Temple is really really bad. I guess Tulane will be favored over Tulsa regardless

Their offense was sleepwalking early too.

It would be a beautiful thing for Holton Ahlers to have a career game tonight and pull that upset.

UCF drove for a TD on their first possession after the half to cut it to 17-10.

ECU answers with a TD. 24-10 ECU in the 3rd

ECU up 27-10, but UCF is at mid-field, moving the ball from the 10. 5:30 to go

UCF is toast. Not coming back from that as they've scored 13 the whole game.

Next week will be interesting. Who do we root for? UCF to give Cincy a loss also (putting us a game ahead of both)? Or UC to give UCF a second loss, almost eliminating them and giving us a clearer shot at the CG even with one loss or possibly even two?
