I was there for all three. LSU had given Cholly Mac a Cadillac for his retirement. A group of Tulane fans waited outside where LSU would exit to get on their bus and had a coffin painted with"Cholly Mac's Cadillac". They were beating on it and chanting it over and over. Score was 24-13.

Interesting stat:

Tulane beat LSU legendary coach Charlie McClendon in his last regular season game (the one above).

Tulane beat LSU basketball coach Dale Brown in his last game (NIT).

Tulane beat LSU baseball coach Skip Bertman in his last game (NCAA Super Regional).

A trifecta!
24-0 lead, and 24-13 final score for that 1979 game.

Dale Brown coached for like 20 years after that game?

I looked it up, Brown coached 15 years after that game.

Who brought back his team from 2-10 to 11-2 and a Cotton Bowl Invite, a better record than Caleb Williams, who dumped OU for USC, as against MIchael who has stayed faithful to his school?

I will never trust my memory again. You are right about the score and about Dale Brown. That game was he last time he played Tulane not the last game he coached.

I have no excuses. I was at both games.

I truly wonder how much NIL money he would have gotten if he had gone to the portal

As mentioned many times yesterday, Michael Pratt now has 72 TD Passes (tied for the most in Tulane Football History).

I'll say it again. We're very lucky to have #7 in Green.

Pratt is now over 60% completion rate for his career after the UAB game.

If he stays healthy, I believe he can get the 1,341 passing yards needed in the final 7 games to be Tulane's all-time career passing yard leader.

Just a fantastic career so far.

After the Memphis victory, Michael Pratt now has 25 career rushing TDs. That puts him at 7th all-time, tied with Jamaican Dartez.

Pratt's 259 Passing Yards against Memphis keeps him on pace to be the all-time Passing Yards leader by the end of the Regular Season.

Two interesting notes from Pratt's performance on Saturday:

1) He has now passed Tulane Legend Jamaican Dartez in career rushing touchdowns. Dartez had 25. Pratt now has 26. Not bad for a QB with the most TD Passes in University history.

2) He needs to average 178 Yards Per Game in the final 5 regular season games to move to #1 in Tulane Career Passing Yards.

Factor in conference champinship and bowl and he only needs to average 128 yards!

He could have the yardage record over the next 3-4 games.

With his performance against Rice, Michael Pratt jumped Shaun King in all-time Tulane Passing Yards (now #3 all-time) and tied Shaun King in all-time Tulane Passing Completions.

After yesterday's win @ECU, Pratt needs just 412 more Career Passing Yards to become #1 All-Time at Tulane in that category.

Pratt is currently #6 in the nation in QBR (ahead of both Caleb Williams and Michael Penix Jr.).

Michael Pratt, winner of his last 12 starts as Tulane QB, is just 218 Passing Yards away from passing Pat Ramsey for #1 All-Time in Tulane Career Passing Yards.

Congrats to Michael Pratt for becoming the all-time Tulane Career Passing Yards leader on Saturday!

He now has 699 career completions and 87 TD passes + he has absolutely shattered every efficiency standard at Tulane for a QB.

I think it is fair to say he has accomplished this in a pretty balanced Offensive scheme (not necessarily an “Air Raid” attack).

Here’s to accomplishing more on the field the rest of the way in ‘23!

Just one note from Friday’s game, Tulane has now won its last 14 games when Michael Pratt has been the starting QB.

I am pretty sure that is some sort of Green Wave QB record as well.
