Wave wins first baseball series of the year!!
Tulane takes 2/3 from Columbia with a 6-3 victory. Christian Sanchez gets the save.
Actually resembled a Division 1 baseball team this weekend. Nothing bad to say, just going to enjoy this.

Got a couple of monkeys off their back. Always good to win.
We deserve so much better

Worth noting that before we took two out of three against Columbia, Columbia took two out of three at (then) number 18 ranked Alabama. Not saying we have definitely turned a corner, but we took a step in the right direction. Frankly looking at how our conference is doing we might still end up in the top three in the aac in conference play. Ecu will be a heavy favorite to finish number one in the conference regular season but I don’t see another conference member that looks that good. Let’s string some wins together and see what happens.

It's nice to win a series. Heck, I've pretty much taken my medicine and made peace with how bad we are going to be for a long time which lets me enjoy any small victory.
Here's the truth. We've got 35 games left. We need to win at least 34 of them to get into the top 45 RPI. In other words, less than halfway into the season we have 0 shot at an at-large. Our league is currently ranked 10th, much lower than just a two years ago when we finished 5th. That helps us a bit since the only way we are making any kind of postseason going forward is to luck into a conference championship. The bad news is, only Houston is ranked lower than us in RPI, so it's pretty hard to see us doing much damage in conference play. Sorry to be a downer, but the facts is the facts

I just want to see some improvement, even if it’s only marginal.
Uhlman isn’t getting moved any time soon regardless of how the team performs, so we all just have to hope this experiment works out. Show me this weekend was a step in the right direction and not an outlier.
