"If we didn't win the (AAC ) tournament, I wanted to make sure that there was an RPI in place that would give us an opportunity if we can finish toward the top of the league, " Uhlman said. "It was all intended on putting us in the best position to get an at-large bid."

I quit watching with Hawaii having bases loaded and no outs in the 6th inning in a 0-0 game (it was 1am).

3-1 Hawaii was the final.

I’m here. Other than families and staff, no other Tulanians.

Hawaii fans have been gracious through our @ss kicking.

Good luck to Hawaii in getting to a regional. I hope they host.

Lose Game 2 7-1

Guerry tweets telling benchmark to comparatively evaluate Tulane: northern gym team, UConn, last visits Hawaii and sweeps scoring forty runs.

Just bad. No way to rationalize this.

This is the exact experience this team needs for when Coach Uhlman shortly takes them to a hostile away environment for a Super Regional. They'll be able to build on this experience + while Coach Uhlman & the Staff's "Wives and Girlfriends" got some much need R&R on Tulane's dime in the Aloha State. Best of Both Worlds: "Business & Pleasure Trip".

Hawaii is a proud baseball program. Look at their season records over the years. They have even been to two Regionals since 1994.

Finally, you can't compare Coach Uhlman still in the first half of Year 1 with just getting to know his players and how to get the very best out of them versus Hawaii's Rich Hill who is a veteran Skipper at Hawaii in his second season with his group.

Let's get these guys some time at the Beach this morning and figure out a way to at least double our output of runs today (from Friday and Saturday) against what will most likely be another very talented Hawaii pitcher.

Don’t for get the inspiration they are soaking in from the aura of the 2002 Tulane Football team.

Got home late last night and watched the last 5 innings. In a word, horrible. We did nothing right. Defense was bad. Pitching was worst. Hitting was worst of all. They just don’t have talent. No coach could win with this team. The biggest question is the talent more on Jewett or Uhlman. This once proud program has sunk to depths none of us could have ever imagined.

And no way will Uhlman be released this year. So get behind the guy and hope he can get some players to compete next year. No way will we pay two baseball coaching salaries with all the money being dumped into football facilities and salaries.

The biggest mistake he has made this year was to actually schedule up. He had to know the talent level. This schedule should actually been dumbed down. That was a serious miscalculation on his behalf. I hope he succeeds because he is genuinely liked by everyone around him unlike Jewett.

The team has been to Cali twice this year and now Hawaii. When this season ends and you look at how much our baseball team spent I bet we will lead the nation in cost per win based on all these travel costs.

I am sure the team will be well rested and ready to go against UNO Wednesday night.

can Tulane win 20 this year?
if not, it will be only the 2nd time in roughly 50 years the win total will end up so skimpy. (not counting COVID year 2020 of course)

As Tony says above, gotta pull for Tulane and Jay as the coach. We are fans

Still I feel like it’s Toledo redux in the Dome in September 2011. Difference is Yulman has more ticket takers and concession stands open than superdome. Crowd count may be s push .

It’s really hard to lose 70% of your games in baseball. You can still have a bad College team and win 20 games. So yes I expect them to win 20

However the deeper this trench gets the closer this season seems to USM 2012 football with Ellis Johnson

1. I’m going to say Uhlman, the guy that was the recruiting coordinator. Remember when he was hired how everyone was praising his great recruiting efforts of the past couple years? I remember people touting that Banks, Linn, Marget trio were a great core.

2. He knew the talent level and somehow he couldn’t tell how bad we were. But I see no upside to a dumbed down schedule. Let the guys take their lumps against good competition, so they can see how much they need to improve. Playing bad teams might have us with a W/L record that’s less embarrassing but it wouldn’t make us any better
